Database Base Module

A fully integrated database for all media and sales channels

The crossbase software solution is based on an Oracle database and includes an embedded software license. This enables optimal system integration, simple administration and flexible use without IT managers having to worry about organizational and technical details.

Function Overview

Fully Integrated Central Database

The crossbase software solution is based on a fully integrated central Oracle database and includes an Embedded Software License (ESL). This covers all data structures for the PIM, MAM and CMS applications with the outputs to printed and digital channels. This means that every sales channel and market can be served from a single data source and work processes can be simplified enormously.

Single Sign-On (SSO) and Cockpit Functions

Single sign-on can be set up for fast and seamless work with the crossbase software. This allows users to open the crossbase applications without additional login. A cockpit is also available for monitoring automated processes and productions.

Unicode Support

crossbase uses the Unicode standard for data storage. This means that texts can be maintained in any language. Including Asian languages, Arabic, Hebrew and Farsi.

Oracle Licensing

Oracle Standard Edition

The database can be operated on a physical machine as well as virtualized and is installed by crossbase. This license also includes the use of an unlimited number of CPUs, installations and users. However, the Oracle database from crossbase may only be used to operate the crossbase software. For further information on licensing, please refer to point 17 of the GTC.

Oracle Enterprise Edition

For very high performance requirements, the Enterprise Edition can be installed as an option. However, crossbase only recommends this if at least 16 CPU threads (8 cores) can be used and utilized. With this option, the Data Guard can also be used to synchronize multiple databases.

Maintenance

On request, crossbase can take over the maintenance of the database system. This includes the regular installation of updates and system checks (workloads, checking log files, testing the network connection and, if necessary, other customized checks).

Online Backup with Recovery Manager

If the data backup requirements are particularly extensive, online backup with Recovery Manager (RMAN) can be used as an option. For this purpose, the database is operated in archive log mode, which saves incremental changes (redo logs). This enables a precise recovery.
